Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 Housing Contract Information
AS OF JUNE 25, 2025
The 2025-2026 Academic Year Housing Contract has been available for students to submit since November 2024.
Upper-class student Information:
Upper-class room selection concluded in April 2025. While we are still accepting housing contracts from upper-class students, including new transfer students, any student within this group who chooses to submit a contract at this late should carefully consider the followings:
- Housing and Residence Life is in a standby list scenario and will be prioritizing the placement of fist-year students over all other students.
- Students will be placed on a Housing Standby Lost per gender immediately with no guarantee of a bed placement prior to Fall 2025.
- Housing Standby List updates will be e-mailed to all impacted rising sophomores and above beginning July 7, 2025.
First-year student information:
First-year room selection will occur the week of July 7th. All first-year students who submitted the 2025-2026 Academic Year Housing Contract on or before May 15th will be eligible to participate. While we are still accepting housing contracts from first-year students, any student within this group who chooses to submit a contract at this late should carefully consider the followings:
- Housing and Residence Life is in a standby list scenario and will be prioritizing the placement of first-year students over all other students but as of June 25, 2025 more than 350 first-year students, who contracted after May 15th, have been notified they can cancel for no penalty or be placed on a Housing Standby List (per gender) with no guarantee of a bed placement prior to Fall 2025.
- When bed space demand is higher than bed space availability, the University utilizes a Housing Standby List to assign bed space that may become available through contract cancellations from students who have been assigned a bed space.
- The Housing Standby List is gender-specific so there will be separate lists for female and male students.
- Priority on the Housing Standby List will be determined by Housing Contract submission date. Additionally, Housing and Residence Life will also take into account: 1. students who are living on campus and registered for Summer B classes and/or also registered for Fall 2025 classes (or in lieu of class registration a student must be registered to attend an upcoming First-year Orientation session during July or August 2025); and 2. students who are not local.
- Being on a Housing Standby List does not guarantee placement into a bed space for Fall 2025 or beyond. Housing and Residence Life will work to assign bed space to as many students on the Housing Standby List following the completion of the on-line room selection process in mid-July, if space becomes available. Bed space becoming available will be solely dependent upon how many housing contracts are cancelled.
- The Housing Standby List is not for a space in any specific housing area or specific bed type but rather a list that, if space becomes available in any housing area, is the order in which students will be assigned a bed space. Any student who is only interested in living in a specific community on campus or in a specific bed type is encouraged to not remain on the list as the likelihood of receiving a specific request is low.
- All students who submit the request to be added to the Housing Standby List will be notified of their position on the list on July 7, 2025 via their ³ÉÈË´óƬe-mail account. Following July 7th, there will be weekly updates e-mailed to all students who choose to remain on the list.
- It is anticipated that the Housing Standby List will exist until September 12, 2025.
- Housing and Residence Life cannot guide a student or family personally with regard to these decisions. Each student on the list will have to make their own personal decision to join and/or stay on the list.
- Any student who chooses to join the Housing Standby List may remove themselves from the list at any time without financial penalty as long as the student has not been assigned a bed space via the Housing Standby List process.
- Housing and Residence Life anticipates there will be some contract cancellation activity in the coming days/weeks but Housing and Residence Life cannot predict how many housing contract cancellations will be received.
- While the Housing Standby List is active, Housing and Residence Life will be validating that all students who have been assigned a bed space continue to be viable residents by reviewing fall class registration and financial accounts. Additionally, Housing and Residence Life have added as many beds as possible to the existing inventory of planned rooms/beds, including adding some triple rooms to selected first-year communities.

Additional information for all students:
- Being part of a Roommate Group within myHousing does not make a student eligible for the online room selection process.
- Being registered with the Student Accessibility Center does not make a student eligible for the online room selection process. All students follow the same process to submit a housing contract. Medical and disability housing accommodations only come into play when a housing bed space assignment is made by Housing and Residence Life.
The 2025/2026 Housing Contract Terms and Conditions are viewable by visiting:
Per the terms and conditions:
- Submission of a contract does not guarantee a bed assignment. Assignment to a bed space, or the ability to participate in scheduled on-line room selection processes is determined by the date on which a student fully completes the Housing Contract process in myHousing and includes the submission of a $100.00 processing fee.
- Additionally, the housing contract does not guarantee a bed assignment or assignment to a specific type of accommodation (community, room, etc.) or assignment to any preference indicated by the student. A student’s preferences are requests only and the University's granting of requests, including roommate requests, are not guaranteed.
