Skybound Youth Programs Policy and Guidelines
Welcome to Skybound!
We are excited to have your child join us for a fun-filled and enriching experience at our university campus. This document outlines our program policies, expectations, and guidelines to ensure every participant has a safe, enjoyable, and educational time. Please read through the following policies carefully.
Program Overview
Skybound Youth Programs are designed for youth ages 9–17 and provide an opportunity for learners to engage in creative activities. The programs are structured to promote personal growth, teamwork, and a passion for learning.
Program Hours
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Drop-off: Begins at 8:45 AM
- Pick-up: Ends at 4:15 PM
Please ensure that your child is dropped off and picked up promptly. We recommend arriving early for drop-off to avoid delays.
Registration and Payment
- Registration Deadline: A learner’s registration documents and full payment are due no later than two weeks before the program begins.
- Fees: Program fees vary.
- Payment Methods: We accept credit/debit cards, checks, and online payment via our secure portal.
- Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your learner’s registration, please note the following:
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the program start date will receive a 90% refund.
- Cancellations made between 5 and 13 days before the program start date will receive a 50% refund.
- No refunds or transfer requests will be accepted within five (5) business days of the start of the program or if your camper does not attend.

Medical Forms and Health History
All learners are required to submit medical information, which includes information about allergies, medications, and any health conditions. This information must be submitted before the first day of the program.
Medication Policy
Program staff are not authorized to and will not administer medication (prescription or over-the-counter) to learners. It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to ensure that medications are administered to their child as required.
Illness or Injury
If your child becomes ill or injured during the program, a staff member will contact you immediately. If your child is exhibiting symptoms of contagious illness, we ask that they stay home for the safety of others.
Code of Conduct
We are committed to providing a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners. All learners are expected to adhere to the following behavior guidelines:
Respect and Kindness
- Treat staff, peers, and all property with respect.
- Bullying, aggressive behavior, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
Behavior Expectations
- Learners should listen to and follow instructions given by staff at all times.
- Use of inappropriate language, violence, or disruptive behavior may result in removal from program activities or dismissal from the program without a refund.
Dress Code
- Learners should wear age-appropriate attire during the program. Clothing should not display lewd or offensive text or graphics. Shirts, pants/shorts, and shoes must be worn at all times.
- Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times for safety.
Personal Belongings
- Learners should not bring valuables, electronics (e.g., smartphones, tablets), or inappropriate items to camp. The university is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Any items that may pose a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others (e.g., knives, matches, fireworks, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

Food and Snacks
- Lunch: Learners will be provided with daily lunches. The menu will vary.
- Alternative Lunches: If your child does not like the lunch menu for the day or has specific dietary preferences, they are welcome to bring their own lunch from home.
- Snacks: Learners are welcome to bring their own snacks, which can be consumed according to the instructor during designated mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks.
- Nut-Free Policy: Due to food allergies, we ask that learners not bring any snacks or lunches containing nuts or nut products.
Transportation and Parking
- Drop-off and Pick-up Location: Adam Herbert University Center, 12000 Alumni Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224
- Parking: Parents are encouraged to park at Adam Herbert University Center (Lot 16) when dropping off or picking up their child. Please do not leave your car unattended in the drop-off zone.
- ID Requirement for Pick-up: For the safety and security of all participants, adults picking up children must present a valid ID at the time of pick-up. We will only release children to the authorized adults listed on the registration paperwork. Please ensure that all designated pick-up individuals are prepared to show their ID.
Disciplinary Action
We believe in fostering a positive and supportive environment. However, if a learner repeatedly violates program rules or engages in behavior that is disruptive to the community, we may ask the learner to leave the program. In this case, no refund will be provided.
Program Staff and Supervision
Our staff consists of experienced educators and administrators who are trained in first aid and emergency procedures. The learner-to-staff ratio is maintained at a level to ensure safety and individual attention.
