Astronomy Club

The 成人大片Astronomy Club aims to share the passion and knowledge in learning more of what lies beyond our planet, Earth. We hold monthly Astronomy Nights, where visitors learn about space and look at the sky through telescopes hosted by our members. We invite guest speakers from NASA, other universities, and from our own students to share their stories and knowledge on all things astro-related. We also organize student trips and outreach events with the wider Jacksonville community. There is a dedicated lounge area for all Astronomy Club members in Building 50 to provide a quiet place to study or collaborate. If you are a student, you can access the club through Perch Portal .   For questions please contact faculty advisor, Dr. Hewitt  john.w.hewitt@unf.edu .

UNF-Space Science Engineering Clube

The objective of the Space Science and Engineering Club is to cultivate students' interest in space exploration and enhance their comprehension of the Earth's atmosphere. This is accomplished through the provision of experiential activities and collaborative projects, including the NASA-High Altitude Student Payload (HASP), Nationwide Ballooning Program (NBP) high-altitude balloon launch, NASA-Rock Sat, NASA-Revolutionary Aerospace System Concepts-Academic Linkage (RASC-AL), Lunabotics Challenge, Zero-gravity flight, and Space Dynamic Laboratory (SDL)- Nanosatellites and CubeSats. These initiatives were designed to develop engineering skills, facilitate practical research, and nurture the growth of future scientists. Our goals encompass stimulating curiosity, expanding knowledge in Earth and space studies, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among STEM fields, and promoting innovative problem-solving. We aspire to create a cohesive community of students passionate about space science and engineering, equipping them to become proficient engineers, capable researchers, and accomplished scientists. Through their contributions, they will advance our understanding of the cosmos and enhance our appreciation of our planet. The SSE Club welcomes students from all majors, including Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and Astronomy.  Students meet every Friday in the research lab 50 /2106. If you are a student, you can access the club through Perch Portal . For questions, please contact faculty advisor Dr. Nirmal Patel, Physics Department at npatel@unf.edu or Dr. Hemani Kaushal, Electrical Engineering Department at hemani.kaushal@unf.edu.
